To begin with, the XJ 12C is powered by the short-stroke, aluminum-alloy, electronically fuel-injected Jaguar V-12 engine, an engine of incomparable smoothness and vast reserves of power at any speed. The efficiency and reliability of the Jaguar V-12 are significantly enhanced by the electronic ignition and the electronic fuel injection systems. In environmental tests the E.FI. system has been proven reliable under such extreme conditions as -40° and +110° Fahrenheit.
Being a Jaguar through and through, the XJC coupe handles like a sports car. It has independent suspension and power disc brakes on all four wheels and very responsive rack and pinion steering. Automatic transmission is standard.
