Description
This is a genuine Endless Pool brand exercise pool.It was professionally installed in the early 2000’s, and when the house was sold in 2008 the new owner wanted it removed. It was disassembled and has been in heated storage since then.
The pool pumps, heater, and swim current producing hydraulic system were all working when it was removed in 2008. I cannot guarantee that everything still works as it has been sitting a very long time, and I have no way to test it, so please understand that some of the components may require new seals, rebuilding or possibly complete replacement, so caveat emptor and bid accordingly. However I would anticipate few problems or surprises putting this back together.
This auction is for all the movable, re-usable components, including the galvanized steel panel walls, roll up retracting pool cover, 2 pool circulation pumps, natural gas heater, sand pool filter, 5HP hydraulic pump unit, in bench swim current hydraulic motor, the stainless benches, and hydraulic lines and swim current adjuster, and electronic control modules.
Also Includes most of the hardware used to install it such as hydraulic hoses, skimmer, fittings, nuts, bolts, etc. It is complete with the exception of the consumable parts you would have to replace when moving an Endless pool, such as the pool liner, liner foam corners, some panel insulation, some PVC pipes, and the wood cabinet shown in the pictures. All these consumable parts are available for purchase, see below.
Several years ago I was quoted ,500 direct from Endless Pools for a "reinstall kit" which included a new pool liner, new polystyrene corner inserts, new swim current grid, new swim current hydraulic motor (the Endless Pool staff said to replace it every time the pool is moved) and gaskets, etc. Costs may have gone up since then, but this should be a good ballpark for you.
I can provide you the address the pool was installed at if you need it to register it and order replacement parts.
You will need to buy some additional items to install this, and here is a non-comprehensive list of things you will need to address. There may be other things, but nothing you cannot readily get from a pool supply or hardware store.
Pool liner (old one was discarded, new one comes with the Endless Pool "reinstall kit" mentioned above)
Pool Liner Foam Corners (four of these come with the Endless Pool "reinstall kit" mentioned above)
Swim Current Motor (this is the hydraulic motor attached to the prop that creates the swim current. The motor included in this auction is an older style that is waterproofed by encasing it with silicone sealant, and although it wasn't leaking and worked fine, when I talked with Endless Pools about moving it, they recommended replacing it with a newer model that is sealed with O-rings.
Swim Current Grid (these are the grids made of PVC tube sections that are glued together to create laminar flow to swim in, they are located where the water comes out. They are prone to cracking over time, and do come with the Endless Pool "reinstall kit", or you can make your own using thin wall PVC pipe sections.)
Filtration System Pipes (The bulkheads where the jets go into the pool, and the skimmer comes out of the pool were retained, but you will have to buy standard sized PVC pool pipes based on where you locate the pumps, filter, and heater)
Pool Sand Filter (Housing unfortunately is cracked, it may be possible to repair but personally I was planning to replace it)
Panel Insulation (Some of the pink foam in pictures came off during disassembly and was discarded, you may desire to add some)
Wooden Cabinet (The old cabinet was discarded, you may want to consider making a cabinet out of composite decking as it will be waterproof and last the life of the pool. Endless Pools sells panel kits also)
Additional hardware, such as concrete anchors, PVC pipes and fittings, misc. washers, bolts, screws, gaskets, etc. may be needed during the install, but all readily available things you can get from your local big box home improvement retailer, or pool supply store.
This pool requires a 30A 240V circuit. Check your local electrical requirements; you will likely need to install a “Spa GFCI” as well, which runs less than 0.
Other things to consider:
I will include all the photo's I took prior to and during removal, and can help answering questions. Endless Pools installation material is available on the internet as well, and they even have a video of their updated system being assembled on
their
website, (eBay made me remove the link but you will find it easily).
The pool requires a concrete slab. The concrete acts as a "bottom" and typically the wall panels are bolted to is with concrete anchors.
If you do not wish to drill anchors into your concrete (for example if you wish to install in garage or basement temporarily) Endless Pools sell metal straps that attach the panels together across the bottom for structure, however it still needs to sit on a concrete surface for supporting all the weight.
The pool panels were notched in some places on the bottom edge in order to facilitate removal of the old concrete anchors. It is likely fine to use as is, however if you prefer, a piece of metal strap or Unistrut can be used to mend it.
You will need to put a 2x6, 2X8 or similar on the top rail of the pool walls. Pressure treated lumber or composite decking such as Trex / Azek are common solutions. You may also desire to make a cabinet / exterior panels from the same material.
Hydraulic system oil is FUCHS Plantohyde 40N, plan on changing this oil before use.
The pool heater has been sitting a long time, please be safe and check with a CO detector when testing.
A 0 nonrefundable deposit via Paypal will be required prior to setting up an appointment to see it / pick it up. The 0 deposit will be applied to the final sales amount, which is expected to be paid by cash in person upon pick up. Please do not assume a personal or cashier’s check will be acceptable, so if you need to make other payment arrangements, please request approval ahead of time. This is transportable with a regular pickup truck, however it will require multiple trips, so a trailer would be a better option. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
