    KOCKUMS SHIPYARD PLAQUE
    This heavy plaque has been in my personal nautical collection for over 40 years.  I am starting to liquidate a lot of important items due to advancing age.
    Kockums was a world-class shipbuilding yard in Malmo, Sweden, that fell victim to
    the onslaught of shipyards in the Far East, with far lower labor costs and newer, more modernized automated production techniques.  Nonetheless, in it's day, Kockums was considered by many to be the very best shipyard in the world.
    The bronze plaque is mounted on a round wood base (I believe of teak).  It is 19" (48 cm.)  diameter.
