    Description

Up for sale is a Rowe Butter crock with lid. The crock has a top diameter of approx. 5 1/4" and measuring from the table up to the top edge of the crock is approx. 3 1/4". With the lid on it is approx. 5" from the table up to the top of the knob.
Salt glaze, more than any other process, endows the pottery with the mark of the firing and highlights the method by which the plate is made and decorated. When the kilm approaches white heat, salt is thrown into the flames. The salt changes into a vapor and the vapor-laden flames react with the clay's surface to form a durable and permanent glaze. This whole firing process from the beginning to end, takes one full week. Brown flashes, iron spots, patches of thicker glaze from a heavy flame, and color variations from grays to browns, combine to make each piece a unique and treasured collectible family heirloom.
It is previously owned with no chips, cracks, or crazing. I do not see any scratches, but it is possible I missed a stray scratch or two. It was hand washed to be sure there was no hidden damage. Please check out the photos as they are part of the description.
If you purchase multiple listings, I will be glad to combine shipping as long as it will not jeopardize the item's safety. Some glass items or large items cannot be combined. I am happy to provide you with a shipping quote before purchasing. Please wait until you receive my invoice with adjusted shipping before paying. If you do not wait, I will be unable to refund the extra shipping as ebay also takes a fee out of shipping that they do not refund me when I refund you.
Please take a look at your shipping options - I try to make several available - depending on your location and the shipping time you need, the prices can vary greatly.  Click on “details” next to the shipping price to see what these options will cost you, and be sure to select the option of your choice at check-out! If you don't see your USPS shipping choice, please check with me as Ebay does not seem to be showing all the options I have available. Please be sure that the correct zip code is entered when checking the shipping price as sometimes people forget to change the zip code when they are shipping to an address other than the one they have entered in their ebay account.
